Hamilton Medical Flow Sensor
Background
My first TMV was focused on the flow sensors, which are a purely mechanical, plastic, consumable (single-use) part. The quality test that I was validating involved breaking a sample of flow sensors per lot in order to test the strength of the ultrasonic weld between the two halves of the flow sensor. A pre-existing production specification defined the load that the flow sensor must withstand.
As I describe in my presentation, the goal of my validation was to demonstrate confidence in the test method’s capability to serve its purpose despite inherent variation in the measurement system (as all measurement systems have) due to factors such as machine and operator variability.
